Asus Zenpower Pro Review | 10,050mAh (ABTU010)

Asus recently refresh their ZenPower lineup with the new 10,050mAh Pro and 20100mAh Ultra. Which come in Black, Silver and Pink colors. The 10,050mAh has an business card size aluminium enclosure which gives it the premium look. Dual USB ports with one of them offering support for quick charge 2.0, I wish it was 3.0. A bright LED of 70 lumens. 4 step power indicator and all this weighs 230 grams.

Now to the performance bit. The rated input is 5V at 2 amp which we gotten 1.9amp max. At 5V at rated output for each port is 2.4amp and we gotten 2.18amps and 2.15amp respectively that’s the maximum input our device can receive at this moment as I don’t have any 2.4amp input capable devices for now. However the Port 1 which is under the input port is QC 2.0 enable where the rated output is 9.1V at 2amp and 12.1V at 1.5amp, from out test it does hit 12V but a maximum 1.15amp due to my testing device limitation. For now we will keep the review calculation at 5V for comparative result with other power banks. Only Port 1 is QC enable, port 2 doesn’t have QC. When both port are used together, I have gotten 4.25amp maximum again limitation on the device I have for testing as it is rated combined output is 23.5W at 5.1V (Asus uses 5.1 number instead of 5) numbers translates to 4.6amps maximum output.

The cell rating is 10000mAh at 3.6v making it 36Wh
The rated capacity is 6400mAh at 5v

The total input: received is 8516 mAh at 5V or 42.58Wh converting to 3.7V equiv is 11508mAh
Total total output: charge is 6502 mAh at 5V or 32.51Wh converting to 3.7 equiv is 8786mAh

Based on total output against total input the actual conversion charge received is 76.35% . I set 75% as a minimum requirement and the power bank is above it. It can charge Iphone 6 around 3.82 times. Check the video review for the comparative charts.

QC 3.0 power banks are coming out soon and some already in the market, I wish Asus followed that direction. I also hope that Asus made the input QC enable as that will help speed the charging rate using 12V. The LED is the brightest so far that I have tested  on any power bank which is much appreciated. I wish it came with a pouch like its bigger brother “Ultra” for the price. Overall is a performing power bank is hard to pick out any mistake, small and compact is a winning factor here with good conversion rate.
