Razer Blackwidow X Chroma is a full size Mechanical Gaming keyboard. This comes with Razer’s Green Switches similar to Cherry MX blues it being clicky and tactile but it feels much more clicky than MX Blue. 50gram actuation force with 4mm travel. Its using spring based stabilizer so there is tiny rattling sound. Rated to last 80 million keystrokes.
The V2 version comes with Razer’s Orange or Yellow switches, audio pass through and has the wrist rest/pad support. The key differences between the V1 and V2 is the illumination on V1 is floating key style whereas the V2 is in an enclosure with white base plate to boost the brightness.
The top surface is full metal that cover both front bit and the back. Cleaning is easy, just remove the key and wipe any dust and dirt off since it’s using floating key design. Thus, I’m always and will be a floating key style guy, prefer this over embedded/enclosed keyboard where cleaning may be tricky. It has 3 way cable management with a 2.15 meter long undetectable semi-stiff braided cable. Weights 1.39Kg.
The keyboard stand increase the height by 1.5cm. Total 6 rubber feets including those on the stand. For the sound test check the video out.
You can set macro keys, lighting effects and other function via the Razer synapse software. The LED has 20 level brightness, and here are some for the available lighting effects. Breathing, Reactive, Spectrum Cycling, Starlight, Static, Wave, Ripple and Custom. In custom you can choose which keys to light up or which effects to run, I set mine to starlight for the 4 top row and wave for the bottom two row, unlimited possibilities on your end.
