Design for IOS uses by allowing you to expand your storage externally effectively freeing space on your devices. Works with Iphone, Ipad and Ipod but you need to use it with the JetDrive Go App. Storage come in 32Gb, 64Gb and 128Gb also in white or black look.
Crystal Disk mark: 130Mb/s read and 35Mb/s write
Atto Disk Benchmark: 132Mb/s read and 30Mb/s write
AS SSD Benchmark: 125Mb/s read and 31Mb/s write
BlackMagic Disk Speed Test: 124Mb/s read and 27Mb/s write
In the app, you can backup your both photo and video file into the JetDrive. You can also choose to shoot with the in-app camera and directly save the photo or video into the JetDrive. It also work with documents like microsoft office or apple iwork and other media like movies and songs. However the max transfer speed between IOS device and JetDrive is 20MB/s due to the IOS interface. Slow but having an external storage for backup and holding extra media is something your should consider having.
Onto the USB Type-A 3.1 the published read speed were 130Mb/s max which falls true in out test, just that the write speed clock max at 35mb/s a bit slow by today’s standards I wish they had hit the 50Mb/s mark as I don’t plan to wait for long, in front the PC just to transfer heavy content into the JetDrive. But imagine having a 128GB external storage that weights only 8g now that’s a selling point there, but a lanyard hole is needed so it won’t get misplaced easily.
